LGBTQIA+ couples require better visibility, inclusion, and acceptance in the wedding industry. Especially here in the north country. It is difficult to find wedding vendors who are truly welcoming to us queer folk in this area. It results in queer couples finding vendors from further away, or having to travel further themselves for their wedding day. Queer couples deserve to have the same level of experience as heterosexual couples. Period. Straight appearing or otherwise, love is love. Windmill Acres rise to the occasion of changing that here in the north country.

When Hannah + Ginger asked to have me document their wedding at Windmill Acres, I truly could not contain my excitement. I was excited to have the chance of photographing a story at a truly inclusive venue in the north country.
Hannah + Ginger followed the traditional route of getting ready separately. They also did not have a first look. Instead saving that moment for when they saw each other from across the aisle. What I love most about their day, was that it was Hannah’s father who conducted the ceremony to marry them. There wasn’t a dry eye between the couple, nor their onlooking friends and family. Myself included.
Not only was their love a magical thing to witness, but the team for their wedding was magical as well. The entire vendor team was dedicated to them and their love story. Hanna + Ginger were able to enjoy and be present in each moment of their wedding day. Their loved ones, including their children were there to share in the day with them. Their wedding was definitely one for the books. It was truly an honor to document their day as it unfolded and work alongside Windmill Acres’ owners.
Wishing all the best to Hannah, Ginger and their beautiful family.
