Antiquarian Bookshop Engagement Session

An antiquarian bookshop probably isn’t the first place that comes to mind when thinking about locations for your engagement session. But, I encourage all my couples to treat their engagement session like a date night. Life can get busy, and we can get caught up in the routine of things. So it’s nice to take a moment to slow down with your partner, and do something you enjoy together. Or just be fully present with one another. While the end result of an engagement session with me is a gallery filled with stunning photos, the photography is the not focus of our time together.

The focus is your connection with your partner, and purposely creating an experience for the two of you to enjoy, no matter what that looks like. It could be a stroll down a trail you love, or one that you’ve never experienced before. It could be a picnic in a field of wildflowers, or taking in the sunset lakeside. But for A + M, they wanted their engagement session to feature one of their favorite places in Owego, an antiquarian bookshop.

To make their date a little dreamier, mother nature gave us a touch of rain, but A + M came fully prepared with umbrellas. The weather added the perfect moody touch to their portraits around the town.

A has a vast collection of art deco lithographs and M is a huge Orwell fan. Peep the titles in some of the photos!

A + M are due to marry this December, and I’m excited to be documenting these moments along side them.

Enjoy these moments from their bookshop engagement session!
