No matter where you’re from, sometimes New York just wins you over. This was absolutely the case for C + J who decided to have their intimate wedding on the shores of Lake Ontario with their closest friends and family. They booked a quaint bed and breakfast in Cape Vincent, Maple Grove, for themselves and their immediate family. Having everyone centralized made things a little easier for their celebration day. Both C + J wanted something smaller, more intimate, and more meaningful, so they were very intentional with whom they invited to witness their morning ceremony.

The gardens surrounding the BnB were absolutely stunning. Making for the perfect landscape for detail photos such as C’s dress.

C + J decided to have a first look to themselves so that they could be fully present in the moment with one another without any onlookers. I often urge couples to go this route if they decide they’d like to have a first look on their wedding day. This way you are free to fully feel any and all emotions without worry of other’s watching.

Their first look hit everyone right in the feels, including me behind the camera.

The arbor was a labor of love by C’s brother, who started collecting driftwood over a year prior.

It was their dream to be married in the water at the lake because the lake itself held such an important place in their hearts.

C later shared with me that the ring exchange made her particularly nervous because she was worried that she would drop the ring into the water never to be seen again.

Of course, post ceremony toasts are a must!

After their ceremony and family portraits, C + J wanted to go on a small adventure together where they could ride around in their Jeep with the top down and doors off.

C + J opted for split day coverage, with their ceremony in the morning and their reception later that evening. During the evening, we wandered out to Tibbett’s Point for some iconic sunset portraits along the lake.
