Tucked away in Boonville, New York is Pixley Falls State Park. It’s a 375 acre park that contains a beautiful 50 ft waterfall and all kinds of nature trails to explore. Even with its proximity to Rome, this state park is rarely crowded, making it the perfect location for R + V’s engagement session.

R + V met over a decade ago in middle school, started dating in high school, and will be eloping in the fall. I’m lucky enough to be documenting their journey together. Pixley Falls is an important location for them as well, as they visit it often, as an escape into nature from city life. It’s also where V proposed to R earlier in the year.

I am absolutely in love with this location. It has heavy PNW vibes, with the falls, the moss, the ferns, and the trees. Now if I could just manage to be there during a foggy morning, I would be in heaven.
