If you’ve never considered Speculator, NY as a potential location for your own elopement, this is your sign. It’s a quaint lakeside town, nestled at the foothills of the Adirondack mountains. Filled with small shops, trails, and epic views all around, it’s one of many amazing places that NY has to offer.
Together, K + N and I designed a day where they could enjoy the first half of the day with just the two of them. It was filled with things like thrifting, getting ice cream, going on nature walks, and sight seeing. The second half of the day they joined their immediate and closest family and friends for a lakeside ceremony at sunset.
Both K + N held Speculator with special regard as they both used to visit for summer vacations growing up. So it only felt natural that they get married in a place that they both held close.
They started out their day visiting a couple different thrift shops in town, with a break to grab a bit of ice cream and iced coffee. Then they ventured around a picturesque miniature Route 66, a nature trail, and then returned to their cabin to get ready for their ceremony together.
They’re avid fans of the outdoors, and together they built a small camper to take on the road for their adventures.
Their ceremony was small, including roughly 15 guests, but was no less filled with love. K + N’s vows were emotional, and N created a pop-up storybook for his vows. He both wrote and illustrated them! After the ceremony, they enjoyed pizza from a local pizza parlor, cold brews, and the sunset.
Enjoy these moments from their amazing elopement day.
