Winter Fields Engagement Session

Erica reached out wanting to book an engagement session as she and her now fiancé, Chad, were finally going to have time together. She was going to be in northern New York over the holidays for two reasons. First, to spend time with her partner and begin planning her move to the area. And second, to see the new home they purchased together. While on a call with them, I found them to be amazing, genuine souls. I happily agreed to be their adventure session photographer. At first we thought about trekking out to a mountain top for their adventure. Unfortunately, with the weather reports coming in, a 3 hour drive east wasn’t going to be safe.

Instead, we opted to make their engagement session more unique and true to them. We chose their new home as the location for their session. The weather, well she was capricious, but damn was she beautiful. One thing that I’ve learned about northern NY weather during the winter—it’s that it’s super unpredictable and can change in a moment. Erica and Chad’s engagement session, while blizzard-y (is that even a word? well, it is now.) could not have been more beautiful, or authentic to them. Amazingly, the weather didn’t stop Chad from rolling out the Harley for a few photos. But it did result in him having to wash afterward.

Wishing Erica and Chad all the best as they begin the wedding planning process together. Their union will take place next November (on a date that I’m already booked sadly) in sunny Florida! I can’t wait to see how their day turns out!

If an outdoor winter adventure session is not your cup of tea, you can always opt for an in-home session like Sarah + Ryan.
