The summer months in northern NY are like no other place on the planet, honestly. Spending time along the St. Lawrence river with your forever adventure partner is just something that you have to experience at least once in your life. If you happen to travel to Clayton, NY you’ll find a quaint little town that’s bustling in the summer with people who love a slower pace of life so that they can relax and take in nature. The town became so important to Laura + Mike that they decided to have a small Clayton, NY wedding to celebrate their union.
Laura’s roots are in Clayton so for her it made sense to have her wedding in the town that she grew up in. She moved to Colorado to pursue her career in psychology and met Mike. But when she brought Mike home to meet her family, he too fell in love with the north country.
Their wedding was going to be the first time that many of Mike’s family would be able to see one another since a certain pandemic took hold over the world—and this was important for both Mike and Laura because members of his family would be flying in from out of country.
Laura wanted a small, intentional, and meaningful gathering. Something that was traditional-ish, but still true to them. So they, along with their planner Jenn (Pineapple & Peony Events) and a touch of help from yours truly, crafted their amazing, relaxed, and true-to-them wedding day. They invited 40 of their closest friends and family to enjoy the day with them.
Please enjoy some of these moments from their special Clayton, NY wedding.
